Dear Church Family:

More than forty years ago, President Ronald Reagan posed a question to voters in his bid for a second term: “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” What would it look like to live in a world where the question was reframed as: “Is the poverty rate lower than it was four years ago?” It’s tricky to maintain a healthy balance between the individual and the community but there seems to be plenty of evidence lately that many, even those who claim to follow Jesus, are more focused on their rights and their own well-being than on the common good. This week, we continue our Easter season sermon series on Revelation, and the message is entitled: “The Multitude.” God’s Multitude is the gathering of those who resist empire and are faithful to God’s way, a diverse community so large no one can count. Join us on Sunday at 10 am when we will celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion, sing God’s praises, honor and celebrate mothering, pray for each other, and focus on another passage from Revelation.

We hope to see you!

Peace:

Pastor Jill
