Pastoral Services

The sacrament of Holy Baptism for persons of all ages is celebrated during the Sunday morning worship service. Parents who wish to have a child baptized should make an appointment with the Pastor to set a date and review the next steps.

Our Confirmation program is offered to young people and is intended to prepare them to, “Claim the Christian faith journey as their own.”  Activities include service projects, hands on mission opportunities and each student is required to write their own Statement of faith.

With the assistance of our pastor, our sincere desire is to couples design a unique wedding ceremony that celebrates the gift of love that respects your wishes and personal style. Please contact us to determine the next steps.

Those who are interested in exploring membership in First Congregational United Church of Christ are encouraged to contact Diane Loch, the church office or Rev. Dr. Jill Sanders.  They will work with you on the next steps. We encourage you to meet the pastor and the larger church community during fellowship after services.

If you or someone you know is hospitalized or seriously ill, please call the church office or Rev. Dr. Jill Sanders directly. The Pastor will call as soon as possible. It is customary for such information to be shared during the Sunday morning prayers; however, the Pastor will not do this without the patient’s or family’s consent.

First Congregational United Church of Christ is an inclusive community. We believe the celebration of communion is an important part of worship. We believe that the table is God’s table and is open to all. If you are unable to attend services due to health or transportation limitations or access, we encourage you to contact the church to request communion or a visit.

If you are anticipating your death or the death of a loved one, please contact the church office or Rev. Dr. Jill Sanders directly. We know that this is a difficult time and we will do our best to meet you where you are at.  We will work with the funeral home, hospice or other facility to help you navigate end of life decisions. We will work with you, family and/or loved ones through this difficult time. Members are encouraged to share with the office or the pastor about service arrangements or end of life plans.

Please contact the church office with your need or concern.  First Congregational United Church of Christ desires to welcome you extravagantly, and we realize that all may have occasional needs that we may be able to meet such as weddings, funerals, baptisms or spiritual guidance. We hope that you may allow us to walk with you.
